GT Parent Connection- WCSD Gifted and Talented Event

LEARN ABOUT summer programs and camps, enrichment activities, fine arts & performing arts opportunities, science and outdoor programs, academic talent searches, foreign exchange programs, online learning, teacher information including gifted education courses and programs, WCSD GT Programs, Davidson Institute for Talent Development and the Davidson Academy, UNR programs, organizations for gifted and talented, non-district school options including charter, private and online schools, and a wide array of extra-curricular programs. Pick up brochures and speak with program representatives. Many new programs will be attending this year!

  • PARENT/TEACHER WORKSHOP
    Saturday, January, 22nd at 9am - 12pm
    Pressures Gifted Children Feel and Why Some Underachieve

Both events will be held at McQueen High School Auditorium, 6055 Lancer St, Reno.
McQUEEN Parking: Because there is also a basketball game this night, parking will likely be easier in the lower parking lot, on Robb Dr, or along Lancer St by the main office. Please do not park in the back by the auditorium. Both stairways will be clearly marked.

Dr. Sylvia Rimm is a psychologist who directs the Family Achievement Clinic in Ohio and specializes in working with gifted children. She is also a clinical professor at Case Western Reserve School of Medicine. Dr. Rimm speaks and publishes internationally on parenting, giftedness, creativity, and underachievement.

Dr. Rimm, famous for her books, See Jane Win®, a New York Times Bestseller featured on both Oprah Winfrey and Today shows as well as, How to Parent So Children Will Learn and Why Bright Kids Get Poor Grades, both 2008 National Best Books award winners from USA Book News.
