NAVIGATING THE PATH TO COLLEGE

This GT Parent Connection meeting will focus on an array of topics related to helping your children prepare for college as well as the college application & admission process.

Guest speaker Stephanie Lamboley is a college advisor who has served as a high school college counselor, college admission officer, and currently assists families through her business College Choices. Stephanie will share her expertise and be joined by parents from the GT Advisory Council and GT Parent Connection who have "in the trenches" experience. Learn about credits, options, selecting the right college match, NCAA requirements, and more.

Please join us - it's never too early to be exploring the road to college!

Directions: Wooster High School is located at 1331 East Plumb Lane, across the street from the Costco Shopping Center, just west of Highway 395. From Plumb Lane, turn north onto Harvard, then take an immediate right turn into the school parking lot. Park in the first parking lot on your left, walk through the corridor to the north, turn right and walk past the library. The entrance to the Career Center will be on your right.

5th ANNUAL GT RESOURCE FAIR

This event provides a great opportunity to learn about summer programs, enrichment activities, talent searches, online learning, teacher information, WCSD GT Programs, Davidson Institute for Talent Development, UNR programs, organizations for gifted and talented, local support professionals, and a wide array of extra-curricular programs. Pick up brochures and speak with program representatives.

TEEN TOPICS WITH DR. STEVEN GRAYBAR

Local psychologist Dr. Steven Graybar will present information related to gifted adolescent and pre-adolescent children. Dr. Graybar has extensive experience as a clinical psychologist with this student population, and will include a Question & Answer portion in the meeting.

GT PARENT CONNECTION MEETING

Mount Rose Elementary (615 Lander Street, Reno)
Our first meeting of the year is the perfect opportunity to learn about GT Parent Connection, GTAC, and the WCSD GATE Program. Parents of all GT students, whether in district schools or non-district schools, will hear about activities for the year, meet other GT parents, and have an opportunity to join discussion groups about parenting gifted children. WCSD GATE Administrator Lisa Riggs will present an overview of district GATE Programs, and will be joined by staff members at an information table to answer questions and discuss current programs. Meeting is open to all.
